1. Scope and beta status

These terms govern use of Genome Annotator. The service is currently provided free of charge as a beta. Use does not create an entitlement to a particular availability, processing time, or scientific finding.

2. Service

After explicit consent, the service checks submitted variant or genotype files for file format, reference genome (GRCh37/GRCh38), and technical processability. Where input is valid, it produces one technical research annotation using locally operated reference data. Results remain available through a random private link for 7 days.

3. Not a medical service

The annotated VCF, interactive research report, and technical supporting documents are solely for research and education. They are not a diagnosis, pathogenicity assessment, personal disease or carrier assessment, genetic counselling, or a basis for medical or reproductive decisions. The service calculates neither polygenic risk scores nor disease probabilities and gives no treatment, medication, prevention, nutrition, or training advice. Any notable finding must be assessed by qualified professionals and, where appropriate, confirmed by an independent clinically validated test.

4. Scientific limitations

The reference data and databases used may be incomplete, contradictory, or superseded. ClinVar entries and bioinformatic predictions are reproduced as technical database or prediction information; they are not confirmed as an individual medical statement. Absence of an entry does not exclude a genetic property. SNP-array data covers selected positions only.

5. User responsibilities

You must be at least 18 years old. You may upload only your own data or data you are legally authorised to process. Do not upload unlawfully obtained, third-party, or harmful files. Keep the private result link confidential because anyone with it can access the results.

6. Processing and deletion

Genetic data is processed only after explicit consent under the Privacy Notice. Invalid input is deleted after validation. After completion or failure, source and work data are deleted; results and related job metadata are deleted after 7 days.

7. Statutory rights

Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected. Questions about use or personal-data processing may be sent to info@genoquill.com.
